Every Journey Starts Somewhere

There is a lot to take in during the first week at DRH Lindersvold.

New faces.
New routines.
New responsibilities.

A new place that, in just a few days, starts to feel a little more familiar.

The days move quickly, filled with introductions, practical sessions, meetings and activities designed to help everyone settle into life on campus.

By the end of the week, what once felt unfamiliar already begins to feel like home.

A Week Full of New Experiences

The first week is one of the busiest of the programme.

There are meetings to attend, practical information to absorb and many new people to meet.

Every day brings something different.

Each activity helps volunteers understand not only how life at Lindersvold works, but also how they will work and live together over the coming months.

After the introductions come the conversations.

Questions are asked.
Ideas are shared.

Everyone begins contributing from their own experiences, making the first week as much about learning from one another as learning about the programme.

Making Time to Connect

A full schedule doesn't mean every minute is planned.

Between meetings and activities, volunteers naturally find time to connect.

Some gather to watch a football match. Others enjoy a quiet moment with a book.
Some discover a creative hobby, while others simply sit down for a conversation over coffee.

These aren't breaks from the experience.
They're part of it.

Many of the strongest friendships begin in these simple moments between activities.

The First Step of the Journey

By the end of the first week, not everything feels familiar yet.

There are still names to learn. Projects to begin. Challenges waiting ahead.

But something important has already happened.

The July Team has taken its first steps together.

The friendships, challenges and unforgettable experiences are still to come.

But every journey starts somewhere, and this was theirs.
